Holly is a top ten UK bartender

Holly competed against the brightest stars in the UK’s mixology scene last month in Edinburgh. Her bespoke cocktail, named ‘24 Degrees Of Smoke’, featuring flavours of caramelised apricot and smoked tea, wowed the judges of World Class.

The competition started back in November 2022, with thousands of paper entries which were whittled down to just 100. From there, judges from World Class visited all 100 competitors in-house to narrow the group down to just 50. The semi-finals took place in London, where Holly impressed the expert panel of judges once more, to earn her place as a top 10 2023 finalist in Edinburgh.

Holly shared: ’Competing in World class has been an unforgettable experience! Seeing the passion, spirit, and dedication of top bartenders from across the UK is inspiring and to get through to the final 10, representing The Alverton, has been an honour. World Class is not just a competition but a community. Thank you so much to everybody that made it possible and a huge congratulations to Matt Arnold who will go on to represent the UK in Sao Paulo. We can’t wait to see you on that global stage!’

World Class have been training, mentoring, and inspiring bartenders across the world for over 12 years, and have worked with over 400,000 mixologists, bartenders and sommeliers in that time. Their competitions are looked upon as highly prestigious in the drinks industry, and to be named a top 10 finalist is no mean feat.
