Introducing our Executive Chef

Nick Hodges

Falmouth born and bred, Nick started cooking when he was fifteen years old, then trained under chef legends Keith Floyd and Jean Christophe Novelli. Nick was always keen to work, travel and experience different cultures and cuisines, so he headed off to Australia, Asia, and Africa. Still in his early 20s, he returned to open his first restaurant in Falmouth, quickly becoming a local’s favourite and soon awarded an entry into the Michelin guide. Following on, he headed the kitchens at The Headland Hotel, The Rosevine and Watergate Bay.

Returning to the south coast, in 2018, Nick became Executive Chef of sister hotels The Greenbank, The Alverton, and The Penventon, and most recently the newly acquired Falmouth Hotel – with the group now sitting proudly under the banner of the Cornwall Hotel Collection.

Introducing our Head Chef

Ollie Wyatt

A proud Cornishman through and through, Ollie has been part of The Alverton family for two and a half years. With both hands on the wheel at the helm of a busy kitchen, his role as Head Chef has him overseeing an endless production of exquisite dishes that our hotel on the hill has built a sterling reputation for. Having worked in a senior position at fine Cornish establishments like the Pandora Inn, The Headland Hotel and The Cove, we were delighted when Ollie joined The Alverton team.

In a bid to bring the kitchen the table, you may well see Ollie checking up on how his team’s creations are being received in the restaurant over the next few months, as well as at any upcoming events.
