The Original Art Shop

If you wander to Nalder’s Court in Truro you’ll find yourself exploring The Original Art Shop, owned by Julieann Kinley.

This well established store is well known for its bespoke picture framing and and artwork. Julieann has over 20 years of experience in conservation picture framing and fine art restoration, so this is the perfect place to visit if you’re interested in adding beautiful new pieces to your own walls at home!

Great Cornish Food Store

Completely independent, this grocery store is like no other.

In 2016, the Great Cornish Food Store opened and began selling entirely local food and drink. This beautifully designed store always offers a friendly welcome to visitors. It has also won multiple awards such as ‘Best Independent Food Retailer’ and ‘Best New Business’. This is an independent store you won’t want to miss off your list!

Red Elephant Beer Cellar

Red Elephant Beer Cellar’s mission on Truro’s high-street is to provide their customers with a fantastic choice and variety of craft beer.

Since 2013 they have been fulfilling this mission. With their excellent expertise in craft beer, you can expect exciting new additions every week. Fans of keeping it local, this team works hard to ensure there is a variety of Cornish branded beers. So even on a rainy day, you can kick back and enjoy a taste of the Cornish coast.

Victoria Walker Jewellery

Victoria Walker Jewellery is certainly a hidden gem waiting to be found at Princes House in the centre of Truro.

Victoria specialises in fine, kinetic jewellery. Above all, her work is inspired by the beauty of natural forms. Her signature flower lockets beautifully unfold before your eyes and are the perfect gift for a loved one. Visitors are welcome but Victoria advises to make an appointment to avoid disappointment!

Truro Fabrics

Truro Fabrics is a small, family run sewing and knitting emporium based in the heart of Cornwall.

Starting as a market stall in 1984, Truro Fabrics has since grown into one of Britain’s largest independent fabric retailers. Offering everything from textile craft supplies to high-end bridal fabrics, the talented team will help you with any queries or projects you may have. Music Nostalgia

Starting as a humble unit at Pannier Market in 2008, Truro’s resident record shop, Music Nostalgia, has gone from strength to strength building a local fan-base.

They later moved into the largest unit in the market in 2012 and have recently relocated to Tinner’s Court. Stocking music of all tastes, this shop has an extensive range of vinyls, discs and merchandise to choose from.

Illustrated Living

Created by Chris and Rosie Houghton in 2009, there are now three Illustrated Living stores – two in Lemon St Market and another in St Ives.

Specialising in handmade lighting and interior accessories, their original shop in Truro is one you won’t want to leave empty handed! Chris and Rosie are firm believers in buying once and buying well. So you can trust that any product you buy from their store will be functional, strong and well-made.

Busby and Fox is an independent women’s clothing and lifestyle brand that sells a variety of beautiful garments and home décor.

Started in 2004 by Jodi Skelton, Uneeka began in Lemon Street Market and has grown into three stores, including a home furniture shop on City Road, a lifestyle store come café on Boscawen Street, and their newest lifestyle store in Falmouth.

Located along Kenwyn Street just off the main roads, Bonython Bookshop is a little-known gem that’s well worth hunting out.
