What’s on this December in Cornwall
The most wonderful time of the year is upon us. In The Duchy, there are plenty of festive activities to get us in the Christmas spirit this December.
Festive Afternoon Tea
Nothing says Christmas like tucking into festive treats such as Parmesan mustard glazed pigs n’ blankets, snowball meringue tarts and a Baileys mousse.
Come over to The Alverton this December and you’ll be treated to all this. Additionally, you’ll get a tea or coffee, alongside a steaming hot glass of mulled wine. Spoil yourself, and friends and family, for £25 per adult, £12.50 for children.

Truro Farmers Market Big Christmas Market
Whether you’re on the lookout for a special gift, or the perfect pairing for your Christmas feast, you’ll find it at this Christmas market.
Discover a world of Cornish produce and craft from over 50 local traders at this open-air festive market.
Meanwhile, there will be music and entertainment to create a festive atmosphere.
Finally, every Wednesday is late night shopping night when the shops are open until 9pm for any last-minute Christmas shopping.
Falmouth's Festive Weekend
Enjoy a full schedule of exciting events that are taking place in the run up to the big day. Take part in ice skating, then try your hand at ice curling. After, ride the festive land train or use the opportunity to do some last-minute Christmas shopping.

It’s just a short stroll to The Greenbank where you can kick back with a warming festive cocktail.
Mousehole Christmas Lights
Visit the charming, quintessentially Cornish fishing village of Mousehole any time in December and you’ll also get a glimpse of Mousehole’s famous Christmas lights.
Started in the 1960s, there are now over 60 displays and people coming from far and wide to view them every night.
Visit on the 23rd December, and join in a lantern procession for Tom Bawcock’s Eve – an altogether joyous celebration of a brave local man who braved stormy seas to catch fish and consequently feed his village.
Christmas drive in cinema
On the week leading up to Christmas, join the Cornish Cinema Club for their Christmas Drive-in Cinema.
With Christmas classics such as Love Actually, Home Alone and Elf, on during the day and in the evening, you’ll be sure to find your favourite Christmas film.
The cost is £20 per car. Refreshments will also be available to purchase on-site.
Christmas swims
It’s not a Cornish Christmas until you’ve plunged into the icy waters off the county’s coasts. If you’re brave enough to take a chilly dip, you’ve got a long list of Christmas swims to choose from over the festive period. You’ll certainly deserve a glass of steaming mulled wine afterwards.
Near-ta theatre’s ‘Christmas Time’
Grab your seat in our Great Hall on 27th December for family-friendly theatrical festivities by the talented, Near-ta Theatre.
The especially entertaining duo will take you on a side-splitting journey from prison cell to pantomime, Christmas films and snowmen, in their very special yuletide comedy performance of ‘Christmas Time’. Expect singalongs, surprises and a lot of laughter.
New Year’s Party
Finally, dust off your dancing shoes and grab your glitziest garments for our New Year’s Eve party in the Great Hall.
Be greeted with a glass of Champagne, then savour tipples from our bellini bar. After, graze on treats and dance your way into 2023 whilst our resident DJ plays.
Later, countdown to the new year, enjoying Truro’s dazzling midnight fireworks from our terrace.
