After a long spring spent cooped up in lockdown, we're excited to explore all the different events happening in Cornwall in May. Now that venues are re-opening, we've put together a list of all the best events and online classes that you can attend this month...
Champagne Afternoon Tea Terrace
Toast to the good times at The Greenbank.
Open every Saturday and Sunday until The Greenbank fully re-open on 17th May, their Champagne Afternoon Tea Terrace sessions are available from 12pm until 6pm and offer a delicious platter of sweet and savoury treats, as well as a chilled glass of champagne.

Bluebell Festival
Enjoy the perfect spring experience at Enys Gardens by attending their bluebell festival this May.
A landscape that even gives the local Cornish beaches a run for their money, this picturesque place is one you don’t want to miss in Cornwall.

Tate Collective Producer Sessions
Tate St Ives are running a series of online workshops for 15–25 year olds this May.

Sharp Teeth Theatre presents Sherlock in Homes - 'Murder on Ice'
Sharp Teeth Theatre are back with a brand new online interactive murder mystery, ‘Murder on Ice’.
Set in 1920s Antarctica, this murder mystery will need all of your detective skills to solve these ice-cold crimes. This immersive experience can be enjoyed with friends and family all over the world as you work together via Zoom. You can make your booking here.
The Big Jump
On Saturday 15th May, you’re invited to jump out of a plane over Perranporth!

The Gourmet Food Market will be open from 10am-5pm and serving up the finest street food Cornwall has to offer. Explore new flavours and support local traders and craft stalls by booking your ticket to this epic food festival.
History of Cornwall Exhibition
On 17th May, delve into the History of Cornwall at The Museum of Cornish Life in Helston.
The museum will be opening a new temporary exhibition, looking at their archaeological collection and the work of the Finds Liaison Officer in Cornwall. A visit here will show you a deep history of Cornwall – a great day out for any tourist or intrigued local.
Archaeoastronomy Workshop
Love the outdoors? An archaeoastronomy workshop could be the thing for you!
On 18th May you can spend the day learning techniques and about software which can be used to look at how the ancient skies around Cornwall would have appeared far different to today. A trip to the historic Tregeseal stone circle will allow you to connect with your Cornish surroundings and learn more about the local environment.
Local archaeoastronomer Carolyn Kennett will lead these sessions and you can learn more about this workshop, here.

The Canterbury Tales by David Mynee
After the huge success of ‘A Christmas Carol’ and ‘Dracula’, David Mynee is back with his new performance ‘The Canterbury Tales’.
The Canterbury Tales paints a picture of what English society was like in the middle-ages, told with David’s signature wit and silliness. This one-man performance is one you won’t want to miss. At just £12, you can book your ticket here.
