Storytelling for Christmas


1st and 3rd January


The Minack Theatre, Porthcurno

Where: 1 hour drive from The Alverton

Cram in some last minute festive fun in January with “Storytelling for Christmas” at The Minack Theatre. The unique venue features the gorgeous backdrop of the Cornish ocean and Porthcurno Beach.

Titanic Stories


Until 5th January


The National Maritime Museum, Falmouth

Where: 30 minute drive from The Alverton

Discover rare and never-seen-before objects from the Titanic in the National Maritime Museum’s current exhibition. Wander through the museum perched on Falmouth’s harbour and peruse personal photographs, letters, newspaper cuttings and other compelling items from the Titanic disaster. This will be your last chance to see it all, before they launch their next exhibition in March.

If you’re planning on being more active for January, why not join the Run Crew? With groups in Falmouth and Truro, make new friends and become part of a group that loves jogging and encourages members of all abilities.

Ice-skating at the Eden Project


1st - 31st January

Where: 40 minute drive from The Alverton

Whether you’re a seasoned pro or giving a new sport a go this January, take to the ice at the Eden Project’s rink. Ice-skating at Eden is open until 23rd February, so plenty of time to strap your skates on at Cornwall’s only indoor rink!

Apple Tree Pruning Workshops

Gallop into the new year and trot on down to the North Cornwall Point To Point horse racing event on 12th January, hosted at the Royal Cornwall Events Centre in Wadebridge. Trade stands and light refreshments will be available, and this equestrian event is open to everyone.

Prickles and Paws Wildlife Watch with Cornwall Wildlife Trust


18th January


Five Acres Reserve, Truro

One for the children this January, take your little ones along to this educational nature trail and wildlife watch with Cornwall Wildlife Trust. Follow the brilliant hedgehog rescue team on the prickles and paws wildlife watch, and learn all about these adorable prickly creatures.

Helston Theatre Company presents "Aladdin"


22nd - 26th January

Be transported to a whole new world with Helston Theatre Company’s magical rendition of “Aladdin”. Expect a brilliant family-friendly production complete with dazzling costumes, exceptional sets and impressive special effects as the Cornish theatre company tells the tale of Aladdin, the genie and the Princess.
