Take a trip back to Victorian times with a visit to the magnificent Lanhydrock House and Estate. A country house with all the grandeur associated with late-Victorian style and decor, take a tour around the various rooms, from the kitchens, nurseries and servants’ quarters that give a snapshot into life “downstairs”, before heading up to the luxurious family areas, including an elegant dining room and huge bedrooms.
If you want to brave the outdoors despite the rain, the gardens are quite the spectacle, famous for their manicured lawns and shrubs, vibrant floral arrangements and year-round colour. There are also surrounding ancient woodlands and bike trails to explore on the National Trust owned estate.
From short 20 minute tours to in-depth talks and and apple pressing workshops, discover all the ‘behind-the-scenes’ secrets from Healeys Cyder Farm. Check out the courtyard, traditional open kettle pots, cyder making museum and barrel-lined cellars. Enjoy a sampling session involving lots of tipples and Healeys refreshments. Wondering what to do when it rains in Cornwall? Why let the rain stop you having fun? If you’ve got a trusty raincoat and some good wellies, you’re all set for a woodland walk. The trees in Tehidy Woods are ideal for acting as a canopy, breaking the fall of the rain. Beautiful streams, muddy puddles and the crunch of the fallen leaves under your feet. Embracing the Great British weather with a country stroll is a very therapeutic way to spend an afternoon. Once you’re done exploring, peel off those wellies and wet clothes and snuggle up indoors with a hot chocolate. Bliss!

There are plenty of fantastic Cornish pubs to check out up and down the county, and Falmouth is one of our favourite places for a good old fashioned pub crawl.

Wander around the largest rainforest in captivity, roam around over 1000 varieties of plants in the Mediterranean climate and expand your knowledge with exhibitions and fascinating stories.
As well as being one of Cornwall’s most popular and well-known tourist attractions, the Eden Project also welcomes world-class musicians and performers to their Eden Sessions in the summer, offer an adrenaline rush on England’s longest zip wire and hosts a variety of community events throughout the year.
A farm might seem like the last place you’d want to visit on a rainy day in Cornwall. However, Trevaskis Farm offers fruit and vegetable picking experiences under their weather-protected polytunnels. Pick seasonal produce, from loganberries, apples and beans to strawberries, gooseberries and raspberries. Just don’t forget to wear your wellies to avoid any puddles or muddy patches.
Once you’re all done exercising your green fingers, head to the homely farm restaurant and fuel up on the freshest dishes cooked from the farm’s produce. We’d recommend their Sunday roasts, or if you have a sweet tooth, their insane range of mouth-watering cakes and desserts that will not disappoint.
Overlooking Porthmeor Beach and the Atlantic Ocean, inspire your creative senses at Tate museum in the heart of St Ives. With regularly changing exhibitions and displays, the Tate museum is perfectly positioned in one of Cornwall’s most idyllic and pretty seaside towns.
The unmistakable view of St Michael’s Mount is postcard worthy, and one of the most iconic images in Cornwall. As well as being a sight to behold, the floating island is home to a castle and medieval church, as well as a small community of residents. The most unique part about St Michael’s Mount is the causeway. It’s accessible to stroll across when the tide is out, but is engulfed by the Cornish waters at high tide. Whether you walk across or take one of the water taxis, a trip to the mount is suitable for all weather types.
