2. Malpas to Tresillian

5 minutes from The Alverton

Just outside of Truro, the charming village of Malpas sits on the banks of the Tresillian River.

Starting at Malpas (via car or ferry from Truro), you can follow the path out of Malpas alongside the river. Pass through the picturesque village of St Clement and follow the river all the way to the village of Tresillian. You can then turn around and make your way back to Malpas and stop for a refreshing pint at The Heron Inn, or continue a couple of miles to Truro.

If you’ve got a little more time, why not finish off the walk by visiting Truro’s best kept secret, Sunny Corner?

3. Trelissick Garden

12 minutes from The Alverton

This National Trust treasure offers a range of trails that weave through woodland and parkland, with far reaching views of the Fal River. The gardens of this 16th century house are open year-round and are particularly beautiful in the spring when the flowers are in bloom.

Post-walk, enjoy a coffee in the onsite cafe, or browse the gift shop and second-hand book shop.
