10am - 11am
Explore Mevagissey Museum
When you’ve finished your breakfast, pay a visit to Mevagissey Museum to learn more about the village’s sea-faring past. The building itself is an artefact, dating back to 1754 when it was built straight into a rock face. Learn more about the Cornish town with the various exhibitions, which will inform the rest of the day spent in Mevagissey.

11am - 2pm
Get hiking
After soaking up a bit of culture and history at the museum, breathe in the fresh air with an invigorating coastal walk. The Mevagissey, Heligan and Prehistoric Tin Stream is a stunning route which is mostly flat and can be cycled as well as walked. Start in Mevagissey, walk inland through a medieval settlement associated with Lost Gardens of Heligan, then return to the coast along from Pentewan Valley, where Cornwall’s richest tin stream was situated.

2pm - 3pm
Stop for tea and cake
Once you’re back in Mevagissey, take the weight off your feet and indulge in a cream tea or slice of cake with a pot of tea. The village has lots of lovely cafes and restaurants to enjoy a snack or bite to eat. We’d recommend Tea on the Quay, for picturesque harbour views and mouthwatering home baked cakes. If the weather is behaving and you fancy something more savoury, why not tuck into a proper Cornish pasty? Just watch out for the hungry seagulls!

3pm - 4pm
Take to the waters
No trip to Cornwall is complete without a boat experience. Zoom along the Cornish waters with a Mevagissey Rib Ride, a great way to see the village from a different perspective. For the fishing enthusiasts, hop aboard the Mevagissey mackerel fishing boat and have a go at catching some fresh fish with skipper Matt.

4pm - 5pm
Admire the art and shopping scene
Once your feet are safely back on dry land, meander around the various independent gift and fudge shops and treat yourself to a souvenir or two! A visit to the David Weston gallery is a must for art-lovers.

5pm - 10pm
Enjoy a few tipples at the local
As the evening draws near, enjoy watching the sunset over the pretty harbour, before checking out the foodie scene. There’s no better way to immerse yourself in the Cornish culture than in a local pub! Tuck into some pub grub after your busy day, and sink a few Cornish tipples. If you fancy a change of scenery, why not hop on the ferry to Fowey, another quaint and charming town just across the water?

10pm - 8am
And relax!
Check into one of the nearby inns or hotels for a relaxing night’s stay. Rise and shine to the sound of gulls swooping and a hub of activity on the harbour. If garden views are more your thing, head back to The Alverton for a warm welcome and a little slice of tranquility in the Cornish capital!
