Our favourite foodie festival of the year will be kicking off the colder season in style.

With a range of talented chefs taking to the stage with demonstrations of their best dishes and samples galore, we can hardly wait for this mouth-watering event! Our very own Executive Chef, Nick Hodges, will be sharing his amazing fillet of Nanteague farm beef recipe on Sunday at 3pm. Don’t miss Nick introducing local up and coming talent at 4pm on the Friday and Saturday at Truro Food Festival too.

To celebrate Truro Food Festival, join us at The Alverton to indulge in a five course tasting menu.

This divine menu has heavy influences of traditional Cornish recipes with a modern Alverton twist. Savour the flavour of local land and sea with seared scallops and pickled samphire. Then taste native mussels and oysters with saffron, followed by seared fillet of Nanteague farm beef. Finish on a sweet note with end of season blackberries, cider brandy anglaise, and a plate of carefully selected Cornish cheeses from The Greet Cheese Co. We’ll also be joined by Annie from My Fish Kitchen for a lemon sole filleting demo.

Redruth Town Market

Revel in Redruth’s mixture of amazing produce.

This vibrant monthly market is held on the first Saturday of each month and has a wide variety of delicious produce, talented local craftspeople and entertainment. Head on down to the market to take in the intoxicating smells of freshly cooked street food and enjoy wandering past the stalls. Entry is free and the market begins at 10am.

Greek mythology enthusiast? This retelling of a classic Greek myth will leave you mesmerised.

Incorporating soundscapes, animation and live streaming, this solo-storytelling performance is a unique event you won’t want to miss. Gary Cordingley has been telling stories, producing theatre and running various workshops in Cornwall for over twenty five years. Moonlight Memory Walk

The perfect opportunity to walk in memory and celebration of loved ones, this memory walk raises vital funds for Children’s Hospice South West for their 30th anniversary.

This memory walk is welcome to all, and you’re able to take part wherever you are. You can either join the community in Kimberly Park in Falmouth for a special memory ceremony and then onwards to a five mile memory walk, or you are welcome to take part virtually and walk your own route. At 10pm, walkers will set off along the paths of the beautiful Kimberley Park and complete a guided stroll, returning to a hot drink, pasty and goody bag. You can register to take part today, here.

Eden Marathon and Half Marathon

A unique sporting experience for runners nationwide and a fantastic way to enjoy the incredible landscapes of Cornwall. Why not take part in The Eden marathon or half marathon this October?

These marathons offer hilly multi-terrain courses around this popular site, following a challenging route through the areas of mining heritage and stunning countryside landscapes. Fisherman's Friends: The Musical

Shanty the night away with Fisherman’s Friends.

This brand-new musical based on the true story of Cornwall’s superstar shanty singers, Fisherman’s Friends, will be gracing the stage at the newly renovated Hall for Cornwall this month. Enjoy the story of a group of Cornish fishermen who love to sing shanties and end up on the Pyramid stage of Glastonbury Festival. Falmouth Book Festival

An exciting new festival to get on your books.

Falmouth Book Festival launches runs from 14th until 17th October. This year’s festival features a line up of authors, poets and storytellers and will take place through various settings in Falmouth town. This is the perfect event to attend if you’re mad about books, poetry and sharing ideas. Take part in various workshops, such as creative writing or illustration. Prefer to take a seat? CAMRA Real Ale Trail

Taste the freshest ales and ciders in town.

With twenty four local venues taking part, CAMRA Kernow have created various routes around Falmouth. The trails mostly radiate out from ‘The Moor’ and encompass central, well known pubs, those in the main street and those in the quieter back streets which may be less familiar to visitors to the town.

The Working Boat will have a variety of delicious new brews to try. Celebrate all the brand new flavours and take in the stunning scenery and harbour views. Entry is free and all are welcome during this two week event.

Horrible Histories

The Minack Theatre brings you Horrible Histories – brilliantly grisly theatrics that will leave the whole family laughing. During this performance you will get to meet the gorgeous Georgians as well as the vile Victorians and discover their historic pasts.
