Gather your friends and family on Wednesday 20th November and head to Truro, for a breath-taking parade of large-scale lanterns. The Truro City of Lights really is a sight to be seen. With live music and a dance procession taking to the streets of Cornwall’s capital, join in on the fun that brings the whole community together. Starting at 6:30pm, begin the evening with the switch-on of the Christmas lights before watching the magical light parade.
Truro schools and community groups come together with local artists, musicians and dancers to entertain over 30,000 visitors. Each year brings a new theme. Every year, the lanterns tell a different story, set to the beat of percussion, music and dance. This year’s theme is “under the clock”. A fantastic tradition that has resulted in nearly 25 years of celebrations, this family-friendly event will be a firm favourite in your diary for many years to come.
This year, The Alverton are community partners of Truro City of Lights 2019. Make sure to keep your eye out for our team, walking alongside the community lanterns throughout the magical evening! And how about a warming hot toddy back at the hotel after the event? We hope to see you on 20th November.
