Join us for our inaugural ‘Taste of Truro’ evening
For this year’s Truro Food Festival, Executive Chef Nick Hodges and Head Chef Erkki Mikk will be hosting an intimate tasting evening in The Library at The Alverton, in collaboration with Annie Sibert from ‘My Fish Kitchen’ and James Greet from ‘The Greet Cheese’.
The evening will be a celebration of Truro and will highlight the very best seafood, grass-fed meats and harvest from our ‘Great Little City’.
Indulge in our five course tasting menu
Expect to indulge in a five course tasting menu, that has heavy influences of traditional Cornish recipes with a modern Alverton twist.
Savour the flavours of local land and sea with seared scallops and pickled samphire. Then taste native mussels and oysters with saffron, followed by seared fillet of Nanteague Farm beef. Finish on a sweet note with end of season blackberries, cider brandy anglaise, and a plate of carefully selected Cornish cheeses. Find the full menu here.
Revel in the theatre of the evening as Annie from ‘My Fish Kitchen’ demonstrates how to fillet the perfect lemon sole before tasting this delicate dish for your first course. Then wise up on your fromagerie knowledge with an expert talk from James Greet of ‘The Greet Cheese’.
Our wine flight has also been carefully crafted by our expert sommelier Yohann Thuillier, with each glass perfectly pairing with every forkful. This will be an additional £25 per person on the night – discover the menu here.
To book your tickets, please follow the below “Book Online” link in the box below and select 1st October as your date of dining. The evening will start at 7pm. Please also let us know if you require the vegetarian options.
