Kneehigh Theatre are offering an exciting training series. The Storecupboard Essentials sessions are for people with experience in performing or an interest in the performing arts. Therefore, members from the Cornish theatre company will be focusing on one vital element of performance each. And from voice techniques to creating characters or improvisation tips, you’ll be an acting pro in no time. Dive head first into a new hobby or polish up your raw talent with these fun online tutorials.

Folktober Festival

Join the outdoor live music event at The Royal Standard in Gwinear. A fantastic day of music from the likes of JollyRoger, Boundless Brothers, As Weird As Fish and plenty more, head to the Folktober Festival from 5pm on Friday 2nd October.

A brilliant fire show will certainly warm you up for some drinking and dancing. Camping pitches are also available to book. The evening will take place outside and social distancing will be enforced.

With plenty of seating available and a marquee, feel free to bring camping chairs, umbrellas and ponchos to prepare for all weather eventualities.

Whether it’s a quick pencil sketch, a collage, a painting or chalk drawing, release your creativity at StreetDraw24. Join other artists, students, enthusiasts or amateurs at this annual event in Falmouth.

In addition to art in the streets, listen to short stories told by interesting people in intriguing spots around Falmouth. Local storyteller Gary Cordingly will be kicking it off at midnight on 2nd October with some spooky ghost stories.

As well as a fun 24 hours of getting arty, you can enter your work to be considered to be shown and sold at The Poly. As a result, all the proceeds will be donated to a homelessness charity in Cornwall. The exhibitions themselves will take place from 15th-17th October.

Cornwall Craft Gin and Rum Fair

Open Air 'Ginema' at Porthmeor Beach

English National Surfing Championships

Whilst the first half of the English National Surfing Championships were able to take place in mid-March, the second half was sadly postponed due to the lockdown. However, the organisers are delighted to announce that the remainder of the competition will take place in October.

If you want to enter, you must be a Surfing England Member and the deadline is on Monday 28th September. Find out more here.

Peeky Blinders Murder Mystery Evening

On 17th October, our Great Hall will be transformed into a scene from 1919 back street Birmingham, and you are invited to join a dinner party with a difference. Hosted by the brilliant Murder by Appointment, join in with this immersive dining experience. Watch carefully as scenes and plot twists unfold, and crack the clues of this murder mystery.

Starting at 7pm, enjoy a drink on arrival before taking your seat for the main event. A delicious four-course dinner will be served with a side of scandal, mystery and murder. Fancy dress is encouraged – think flat caps, waistcoats, faux fur and flapper dresses!

Spooky Pendennis Castle

Your little monsters will love this Halloween event happening in Cornwall. Head to Henry VIII’s old coastal fortress, Pendennis Castle, for spooky trails, creepy clues and haunted stories. If you love Celtic music, dance and folk festivals, Lowender Peran is the event for you. Sadly, the Cornish festival can’t go ahead as originally planned due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the organisers are bringing you Lowender Peran Online – a virtual version. But if you don’t fancy the online event, the annual Cornish knees-up will return properly in Newquay for 2021.

Halloween at the Shipwreck Museum
