The Alverton Real Weddings: Paul and Charlotte Hyde

We chose the Alverton as from the word go it really had the wow-factor.

I will never forget the day we pulled up the drive and were taken aback by the beauty of the building – we were in awe! Equally, when we first saw The Great Hall we were instantly blown away by the breath-taking architecture and decor.

One of the other things we noticed straight away was the warmth The Alverton represents and how hard working, welcoming and friendly the staff are. It was extremely inviting. Food and cocktails also swung it for us! Of course, we had to make sure we made the right decision and went on to view the additional two venues, but all that did for us was 100% confirm exactly where we wanted to say our ‘I dos’.

It would have to be the ceremony itself.

Walking down the hallway to the Great Hall I really felt like we were in a church but without the whole religious aspect. When I walked into the Great Hall with my dad we had singers performing whilst I walked down the aisle.

It was Christmas time and the Great Hall was full of candles, lanterns, fairy lights and a humongous Christmas tree! I honestly felt like I was stepping into what I can only describe as heaven. The room was filled with our nearest and dearest. The whole ceremony was absolutely magical. My husband watched me walk down with our daughter which was lovely. It was all very emotional but super beautiful.

Be as organised as possible. It really paid off to be organised.

The build up to our wedding was relatively stress free. We had booked our wedding a year in advance and in the beginning of that year we created a plan of everything we wanted our big day to include and just focused on bit by bit, month by month and it all came together perfectly!

The team at The Alverton are very approachable too and if you need any other advice on anything the team really are there for you to help in any way that they can.

Get involved and remember it’s never too early to start planning!

The more you do earlier on the better. All the little details really pay off on the day. Enjoy the night before relaxing with friends and family and make the most of your big day. People will tell you how fast it goes and honestly it really does. Remember it’s your day, not everyone elses!

If I could do it all over again there isn’t a single thing about the day that I would change.

In our eyes the entire day from start to finish was above and beyond our expectations and utterly perfect. We just wish the day hadn’t gone so fast!
