New Events Series

We're very excited to announce that we're launched a new calendar of events for 2019. We're aiming to create a thriving events space where locals and guests can enjoy theatre, music, food and drink festivals, and much more.

The 2019 series kicks-off with an intimate Whisky and Winter Game masterclass on Saturday 2 February where you can enjoy a five course feast influenced and infused with whisky notes. For those who like the tipples top-notch the evening also includes a whisky masterclass led by an industry specialist. Though be quick if you’d like to attend as there are only 30 tickets available!

It is swiftly followed by The Alverton Speakeasy Murder Mystery on Saturday 9 March performed by Candlelight Theatre Company in the hotel’s breathtaking Great Hall. The story is set in Truro’s infamous Alverton Speakeasy where the drinks flow, the food is to die for, and the music and dancing go on into the small hours. But there's trouble heading its way for the ultimate who-dunnit. The evening includes cocktails on arrival and a three course dinner to keep all super-sleuths sharp.

On Saturday 23 March The Alverton is hosting its first Gin and Cornish Drinks Festival and promises to be a real celebration of local drink makers. Enjoy live drinks demonstrations, plenty of samples, and music from local musicians.

We’re very excited to reveal our events plans for spring 2019, and with a lovely offering for Valentine’s Day, Mothering Sunday and Easter Sunday it completes the spring season nicely. We’re now working on the calendar for the summer ahead as well as the latter part of the year. It’s going to include theatre, glittering balls, and fun parties - watch this space!

Tickets for The Alverton events are available by calling 01872 276633 or emailing
