Longer days, lighter evenings and warmer weather are all signs that Cornish summer time has reached the county. If you’re looking for a June getaway, here are some of our favourite things to do this month.
Thursday 8 – Saturday 10 June
Explore one of the biggest annual events of the Cornish calendar where people travel from far and wide to celebrate the agricultural history of Cornwall. Visit exhibits, be entertained by the performances in the main ring, taste the best of local produce and take in the fantastic atmosphere.
Friday 16 - Sunday 18 June
The Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival is one of the larghest maritime music festivals in Europe. There are tons of free performances throughout the town over the weekend so hop between venues, exploring Falmouth as you go.
Friday 16 - Sunday 25 June
Workshops, live music and theatre, pop-up shops and fireworks - there’s over a week of activities in the town culminating on Mazey Day. On Mazey Day watch the parades, visit the street stalls and soak up the atmosphere.
Monday 12 – Wednesday 21 June
The world famous open-air Minack Theatre is a spectacular setting to enjoy this Jane Austen classic. Bring a flask of hot chocolate and snuggle into a warm blanket to watch the play unfold, all with the most magnificent backdrop - the Atlantic Ocean.
25th June – 1st July
Head towards the scenic Southern coast and explore the secrets of the Roseland. Follow the country roads that lead towards the picturesque fishing harbour of St Mawes to be greeted by the annual festival. Crab catching, boat races and plenty of other activities can be enjoyed by all the family.
