The new year heralds a change of leadership here at the hotel as we welcome Ben Young to the Alverton family.
Ben, who’s been general manager for the last four years at our sister hotel, The Greenbank in Falmouth, has been promoted to the newly-created role of managing director for both hotels.
Ben is a fourth generation hotelier whose family built and still operate the Hotel Bristol in Newquay.
He boasts impressive credentials, and has more than 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry. He’s worked at several well-respected hotels across the UK, including The Kensington Palace and Park hotels in London, and been general manager at a number of four star hotels in Cornwall, as well as holding regional and group management roles.
“I am delighted to be taking on the running of The Alverton in addition to The Greenbank in the new year,” said Ben.
“There’s a real synergy between the hotels; both offering high quality, genuine and authentic hospitality in beautiful surroundings, along with fantastic food, refinement and luxury.”
Ben takes up his new role on Monday 8 January.
