Spring in Cornwall is a special time of year
From blooming magnolias to wandering our stunning coastal paths, spring is one of our very favourite seasons to explore Cornwall in.
Sea swimming
With the weather starting to warm up, why not take the plunge and have a go at sea swimming?
Cornwall has everything – from outdoor tidal pools tucked around the north coast, to secluded rivers and lakes in the south. Swimming is not only great exercise but can also reduce anxiety and improve circulation.
Go star gazing
Gaze into the Cornish skies.
Cornwall is a fantastic spot for stargazing enthusiasts. With such little light pollution, there are many spots around the county that make the perfect place to pitch up a tent. The north coast of Cornwall has several Dark Sky Reserves including St Agnes and Chapel Porth, Carnewas and Bedruthan.

Wander among the bluebells
One of our favourite sights of spring has to be when the bluebells bloom.
There are various places to wander through a carpet of bluebells, such as Trelissick Garden, Enys Gardens and Tehidy Woods. This lovely sight is a sure way to feel relaxed and get some amazing photographs of your adventures in Cornwall.
Go surfing
Surf’s up this spring!
As the winter swells dip and the weather warms, there’s a wonderful spell of surfing on the horizon this spring. This is perfect for those who are wanting to start a new hobby and learn, as the waves tend to be a bit tamer. We’d recommend heading to St Ives or Perranporth during May to find the sweetest spots of surf.

Delve into Cornwall’s greatest locations.
Bringing you many of Britain’s historic treasures, the National Trust sites in Cornwall are truly special places to visit. Ranging from UNESCO-protected engine houses to magnificent mansions straight out of a scene from Bridgerton, the various buildings and walks in Cornwall will leave you amazed.
Go seal spotting
Meet some of the locals.
Cornwall is home to a variety of incredible wildlife in the spring, and one of our favourites has to be the delightful seals that can be found on our coastlines. Head to the Godrevy Heritage Coast, gaze upon the gleaming waters of Mutton Cove and you’ll find some incredible grey seals. Whether they’re bobbing in the water or sunbathing on the sand, they’re always a joy to spectate.
Visit the gardens
There’s nothing quite like Cornwall’s verdant gardens.
Cornwall is one of the best places to visit in the spring and early summer as the gardens are thriving and gloriously green. With plants from around the globe, and our famous Cornish magnolias in full bloom, you can choose to visit The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Trebah, the Eden Project and many more!
