Following on from Saturday’s government announcement that England will be entering into a month-long lockdown, we are saddened to be in the position of closing our hotel once again. We will remain open until 11am on Thursday 5th November when our last guests will check out after breakfast. Naturally, we are devastated for ourselves and the rest of the hospitality industry facing another lockdown this winter. However, we remain positive and hopeful for the future and plan to reopen on Thursday 3rd December.
During this second lockdown, we will be renting our bedrooms out to any key workers that need a room at a special rate. If you are an NHS worker this will be £79 per night and for all other key workers, £99 per night which includes a bagged breakfast. Please call 01872 276633 to book.
Lastly, we’d just like to take a moment to offer our thoughts and well wishes to all the small business owners and everyone working in the hospitality industry who are being negatively impacted by the pandemic. This is a tough blow for our industry, but we stand together and will get through this! Our deepest respect and gratitude goes out to all the heroic NHS front line staff and other key workers across the country. Thank you for everything you continue to do for us. Stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back once things are a little calmer and safer.
All the best,
The Alverton Team
We are thrilled to be open for business again following the lockdown. Whilst our hotel on the hill is excited to open the oak doors to our lovely guests, we’d like to reassure everyone that we are constantly reviewing and monitoring our COVID-19 secure procedures, to ensure we are working in line with government guidelines.
Health and safety is our number one priority and we want to be clear with everyone on the measures we’ve put in place. Because of this, this page will have all the latest information for anything COVID-19 related and will be updated and reviewed daily.
Current COVID-19 Measures and Updates
Following the latest regulations from the government, our bar and restaurant are operating table service only (as we have been since reopening). The bar and restaurant will be closing at 10pm and room service only will be available after 10pm.
It is now mandatory for staff and guests to wear face coverings in all public areas (we have been doing this since the beginning of August).
We kindly ask that all guests register their details to assist with contact tracing by downloading the NHS COVID-19 app and scanning our QR code which can be found on our menus and signs throughout the hotel.
It is currently illegal to meet socially in groups of more than six people, and groups must not mix or form larger groups. Please ensure that you comply with this regulation. Thank you in advance.
Regrettably at this time we cannot guarantee the availability of any meals for our residents unless they are booked prior to arrival.
Following government advice on outdoor live music, our Summer Garden Sessions are going ahead. Strict social distancing guidelines are being put in place and will be ticketed with limited availability to ensure numbers are manageable.
As a result, every group with a ticket will have their own seated area on the terrace. Al fresco dining and two for £10 cocktails will be served, with all food prepared in the kitchen and table service maintained throughout to avoid crowding at the bar.
The events will take place on our beautiful terrace overlooking the blooming gardens – plenty of fresh air and open space!
Limited tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite here.
Finally, we are open for business! Please call 01872 276633 or email email@example.com to book your stay with us.
Throughout September, every room will be priced at £120 per night when you book direct with us, as a thank you for everyone’s support during this difficult time.
A 48 hour cancellation policy will apply for all bookings in 2020 as we appreciate last minute changes are inevitable.
Ben Young, Managing Director: “The safety of our guests and the team has always been our top priority. We want to reassure you that we are taking every precaution to ensure your full safety and wellbeing during your stay.”
“While we have always had very high standards of housekeeping and hygiene, our senior management team are now overseeing increased levels of cleaning, employee training and additional procedures, all designed to minimise any potential for the spread of ill health.”
“We want to ensure that you have a relaxing and content stay, and to demonstrate that we really have considered all aspects. Because of this, please familiarise yourself with the current COVID-19 measures that are now in place. Similarly, please contact us with any questions; we’d be delighted to hear from you.”
