Health and safety is our number one priority and we want to be clear with everyone on the measures we’ve put in place. Because of this, this page will have all the latest information for anything COVID-19 related and will be updated and reviewed daily.
Following on from today’s government announcement that Cornwall will be entering into Tier 3, we are saddened to be in the position of closing our hotel once again. We will remain open until 11am on Thursday 31st December when our last guests will check out after breakfast.
While we take the decision with immense sadness, our priority remains to play our part supporting the Government and to ensure the duty of care for our staff, guests, and the community. We remain positive and hopeful for the future and plan to reopen soon.
Bedrooms will be available to any key worker who needs a room at a special rate. If you are an NHS worker this will be £79 per night and for all other workers, £99 per night which includes a bagged breakfast. For enquiries please call us on 01872 276633.
Whilst we completely understand tensions are high and this is an anxious time for us all, we would like to politely request that unless your enquiry is absolutely urgent, please do not call us in regards to your future stay or booking for one of our upcoming events. Our team are busy getting in touch with each and every one of you, starting with our most recent bookings first. We’d like to assure everyone that someone will be in touch, and your bookings remain safe.
We thank you all for your ongoing support during these unprecedented and uncertain times. Please continue to keep up to date on our website and social media, and we will post news as soon as we have clarification in the coming weeks.
Stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back to our little oasis in the city once things are a little calmer and safer.
We are thrilled to be open for business again following the lockdown. Whilst our hotel on the hill is excited to open the oak doors to our lovely guests, we’d like to reassure everyone that we are constantly reviewing and monitoring our COVID-19 secure procedures, to ensure we are working in line with government guidelines.
We appreciate that last-minute changes are inevitable at the moment, so we’ve updated our terms to a 48 hour cancellation policy for upcoming stays, until 31st March 2021. All reservations can be amended as many times as you need to, or can be cancelled at no charge, up to 48 hours before the scheduled date of arrival. Cancellations less than 48 hours prior will be 100% chargeable. Card details will be required at the time of booking, but no prepayment will be taken. Please note that our 48 hour cancellation policy excludes our advance purchase offer, and Christmas and New Year breaks.
Following the latest regulations from the government, our bar and restaurant are operating table service only (as we have been since reopening). The bar and restaurant will be closing at 10pm and room service only will be available after 10pm.
It is now mandatory for staff and guests to wear face coverings in all public areas (we have been doing this since the beginning of August).
We kindly ask that all guests register their details to assist with contact tracing by downloading the NHS COVID-19 app and scanning our QR code which can be found on our menus and signs throughout the hotel.
It is currently illegal to meet socially in groups of more than six people, and groups must not mix or form larger groups. Please ensure that you comply with this regulation. Thank you in advance.
Regrettably at this time we cannot guarantee the availability of any meals for our residents unless they are booked prior to arrival.
Finally, we are open for business! Please call 01872 276633 or email email@example.com to book your stay with us.
Throughout September, every room will be priced at £120 per night when you book direct with us, as a thank you for everyone’s support during this difficult time. A 48 hour cancellation policy will apply for all bookings in 2020 as we appreciate last minute changes are inevitable.
Ben Young, Managing Director: “The safety of our guests and the team has always been our top priority. We want to reassure you that we are taking every precaution to ensure your full safety and wellbeing during your stay.”
“While we have always had very high standards of housekeeping and hygiene, our senior management team are now overseeing increased levels of cleaning, employee training and additional procedures, all designed to minimise any potential for the spread of ill health.”
“We want to ensure that you have a relaxing and content stay, and to demonstrate that we really have considered all aspects. Because of this, please familiarise yourself with the current COVID-19 measures that are now in place. Similarly, please contact us with any questions; we’d be delighted to hear from you.”
