Perranporth Beach

20 minute drive from The Alverton

Situated on the north coast of Cornwall, Perranporth is a fantastic beach for your dog to run free. Its long sandy terrain has plenty of room to roam and the nearby village is also friendly and welcoming to both tourists and four legged friends. Dogs are allowed all year. However there are restrictions that dogs must be kept on a lead between July and August from 9am to 5pm.

Carne Beach

30 minute drive from The Alverton

Carne Beach (also known as Gerrans Bay) is one of the best in the area for its long stretch of sand. It’s not usually too busy and is a dog friendly beach all year round, although pets must be kept on a lead during the summer months. A fabulous spot on the Roseland peninsula.

Pedn Vounder Beach

One hour drive from The Alverton

Arguably one of the most breath-takingly beautiful places in Cornwall, although a good journey from us here at the hotel, this beach is most certainly worth it! Dogs are allowed on this beach all year round and the car park is a ten minute walk away. We would however note, that the tide does come in fast at Pedn Vounder beach, so please be careful for you and your pup!

Mawgan Porth

Thirty five minute drive from The Alverton

Another fantastic beach that welcomes dogs all year round. This long sandy beach is perfect for both dog walking and surfing, if you’re pup is keen on the water! The lifeguards are on duty between mid May and the end of September, so take advantage of the safe swells while you can.

Sitting half a mile along the South West Coast Path from Portscatho, this lovely beach is welcoming, family friendly and of course, dog friendly! Dogs are allowed all day long, all year round. Kennack Sands

One hour drive from The Alverton

This beautiful stretch of beach is tucked away just east of the Lizard point. Kennack Beach is dog friendly all year round and popular with dog walkers and families. It’s not uncommon to spot basking sharks just off of this coast. Although not known for coming close to the shore, it’s always safer to keep an eye out if your dog is a keen swimmer!

Also known as Cadgwith Cove, this quaint little spot is a lovely place to relax and enjoy the landscapes with your pup. This beach is a great place to go for a swim and explore along the rocks. It’s also dog friendly all year round!

Mullion Cove

Forty five minute drive from The Alverton

Located on the west coast of the Lizard, this small sandy beach lives beside a historic lifeboat station and the stunning Mullion harbour. This beach welcomes dogs all year round. However due to its size, it tends to be mostly covered at high-tide. We’d recommend visiting and exploring the lovely harbour too!
