"The Alverton offers its visitors country glamour in the centre of a city. The former convent sits proudly on a hill offering a stunning welcome as you travel up the driveway through tall trees, which provide beautiful framing for the now hotel."
The Wordrobe Review
"Up a hill, a short stroll from the centre of Truro, The Alverton has a holy feel about it."
The Times Travel
"Occupying a rambling Victorian-Gothic pile hidden behind high stone walls and centuries-old trees, The Alverton is a classic county town hotel with a contemporary twist."
The Telegraph
"In some ways The Alverton encapsulates the theory that Cornwall is punching well above its weight in the nation's hospitality scene."
Western Morning News
"The devil's in the detail - old-world charm meets calming modernity."
West Briton
"Upon arrival I thought the 18th-century property had a whiff of Hogwarts about it; suffice to say I was immediately enamoured by its heritage good looks. Despite being a stone’s throw from the city centre of Truro, it had a countryside retreat vibe to it, thanks to the manicured grounds and mature landscaping."
The Luxury Editor
"Although it's smack-dab in town, it feels like a genteel country house hotel, complete with rolling, private grounds. From the extraordinary vaulted ceiling of the cathedral-like chapel to the “nuns' cells” in the lower part of the main building, the sandstone and flint buildings ooze historical vibes."
