23rd March - 7th April

Easter Egg Hunt at National Trust Trelissick, Truro

During the Easter holidays, National Trust Trelissick are hosting a magical trail around the gardens and grounds. Keep your little explorers busy with a series of ten mini activities that lead the way to a chocolate egg prize. The perfect family day out this April.

29th March - 11th April

The Dragon Egg Trail at Enys Gardens, Penryn

If you’re looking for child-friendly things to do in Cornwall in April, something rather curious is happening at Enys Gardens. The team at the gardens in Penryn are seeking dragonologists with a keen sense of adventure, to embark upon their new Dragon Egg Trail. Search for new species of dragons, follow clues, and learn about these fascinating creatures.

29th - 9th April

Wild Awake at Tehidy Woods, Portreath

This Easter, embark on an immersive celebration of spring at Tehidy Woods. A family-friendly event, Wild Awake combines theatre, dance and live music, delivered by Rogue Theatre, in the enchanting setting of the Cornish woodlands. 

1st - 30th April

Cocktail Club at The Alverton, Truro

On Thursdays, we drink cocktails! Join us at The Alverton every Thursday throughout April for our Cocktail Club, where we’ll be shaking and serving two for £12 tipples from 5pm ‘til late. With the promise of warmer weather, take full advantage of our outdoor terrace area, and the budding new flora springing to life in our private gardens. 

Browse our cocktail menu and get your friends together to get the weekend started a little earlier at our little oasis in the city. 

6th April

The Glenn Miller Orchestra at The Hall For Cornwall, Truro

Turn back the decades and step into a 1940s time capsule for the night. On 6th April, The Hall for Cornwall welcomes nostalgic powerhouse, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, to bring to life the big band era. Expect sensational accompaniments and instrumentals from the trumpets, trombones, saxophones, and singers, as they recite all of Miller’s war-time chart toppers from the 40s.

10th April

The Sea Show at The Minack Theatre, Porthcurno

An afternoon of silly slapstick and live music by the sea is calling. The Sea Show is a family-friendly production, full of laughter and fun, with a mixture of comedy cabaret and puppetry. Get to know the mischievous cast, including Morwenna the Mermaid, and her friends Ruan the Seagull and Captain Pemburthy. 

The light-hearted, maritime-themed show takes place in one of the most breath-taking theatre venues, atop a cliff overlooking Porthcurno Beach and the Cornish ocean. 

25th April

Bobby’s Taste of Cornwall at The Greenbank, Falmouth

Back by popular demand, following two successful events in March, The Greenbank’s Head Chef Bobby Southworth is returning for another evening of fine dining by the coast. Head to Falmouth on 25th April to try a six-course tasting menu that encapsulates the best of Cornish cooking. 

Soak up the expertise from Bobby, as he talks you through each course in detail, before you sample the flavours yourself. With an optional accompanying wine flight available, this is the perfect event for foodies and cooking enthusiasts that want a more immersive dining experience. 

26th - 28th April

Porthleven Food Festival, Porthleven

One of Cornwall’s most popular food festivals is back again! On the last weekend in April, the iconic harbour town of Porthleven will be a hive of activity. Endless stalls and stands of food and beverages will be lined up, ready to take your order. 

Choose from native oysters, pan-seared scallops, and other seafood delights, to burgers, pizza, pasties, fudge, beer, gin, and more! You name it, Porthleven Food Festival probably has it. Alongside food, there is also an impressive line-up of local entertainment, including Cornwall’s finest sea shanties.
