St Piran’s Day Cornish Folk Festival 2020
Head to The Great Hall dreckly, for a night of quintessentially Cornish entertainment at our inaugural St Piran’s Day Cornish Folk Concert.
(This is a past event).
Celebrate St Piran’s Day in the Cornish capital, surrounded by local talents, ‘ansome ales and much-loved delicacies. We’ll be serving up piping hot pasties and hearty saffron buns in The Great Hall. Above all, experience the mind-blowing acoustics and take part in the Trelawny Shout at 9pm (the mass rendition of our Cornish anthem.)
On Thursday 5th March, Cornish folk singer-songwriter and member of the popular group The Oggymen, Will Keating will be gathering some extra-special guests to the stage. This includes internationally renowned Cornish duo Davey & Dyer, and world-renowned Banjo player John Dowling. They’ll be bringing an inspiring and uplifting ensemble together to embrace the Kernow spirit.
We’ll also be taking part in the Trelawny Shout. An annual tradition where the county unite in harmony to recite the Cornish national anthem. Started by our chosen charity of the year, Cornwall Community Foundation, this year the voice count is expected to exceed 20,000. So why not surround yourself with musical excellence, sing-song, dancing and lots of local history in The Great Hall!
For £15, your ticket will include entry to the concert, a free pint on arrival and a tasty pasty. Click here to get your tickets.
