With legends such as Roger Taylor, Mick Fleetwood and Fisherman’s Friends, Cornwall’s stunning scenery and wild weather is the perfect creative inspiration for both past legends and upcoming artists.

Here’s a guide to our top ten favourite musicians in Cornwall to keep an eye out for…

Our Atlantic Roots

Next playing at The Alverton’s Summer Sessions on 26th May.

Cornwall based husband and wife indie duo, Our Atlantic Roots, bring an uplifting blend of American & British alternative folk, with harmonies that are rich, dynamic and unite beautifully.

With guitar playing that is full of character and lyrics that are both poetic and direct, hopeful and authentic. This duo present a blend of the cultures they are individually from, by merging various genres characterized by their country and folk roots.

Hannigan is a traveling singer songwriter. Drawing from his English and Irish heritages, he has created a sound that can only be defined as his own. Settling into an acoustic soulful folk rock genre he writes honestly, inspired by the ever changing world around him.

Growing up in the small town of Lostwithiel, Cornwall, Rue made a name for herself by conquering the local gigging scene. She has been making waves in music since her first EP release. Rue continues to push her sensational vocals, impressive fingerstyle guitar playing and beautifully neo-soul inspired songs all across the UK.

Ash Harding

Next playing at The Alverton’s Summer Sessions on 30th June.

Based in the Southwest, Ashley Harding has travelled and played in venues all over the world. Now residing in Cornwall, he is a popular performer at weddings and private events as well as our annual Summer Sessions! Performing a huge range of musical styles ranging from pop, rock, blues, country, folk, reggae and so on, there is something for everyone.

Mog Jones

Next playing at The Alverton’s Summer Sessions on 14th July.

Mog Jones writes her own original music as well as covering songs by the people she loves to listen to, including The Beatles, David Bowie, Dolly Parton and Stevie Nicks. Mog is a very well known name in the Cornish busking community, playing music to the streets of St Ives when she was just eleven years old! Now she’s opening for shows such as Tunes in the Dunes, as well as a regular performer at our Summer Sessions.

Sam Richardson

Next playing at The Alverton’s Summer Sessions on 28th July.

Sam Richardson and The Renegades are a soaring 4 piece roots-rock band hailing from the rugged north coast of Cornwall. After being hand-picked by Michael Eavis himself to support Wolf Alice on their 25th anniversary show on Worthy Farm, Sam Richardson was entrusted with the task of opening the 50,000 capacity Main Stage at Boardmasters in 2021. Sam is joining us solo, for his first performance at the Summer Sessions and we can’t wait to hear him play!

Miranda Brook

Next playing at The Alverton’s Summer Sessions on 11th August.

Miranda is a self-taught, singer songwriter from Cornwall, who has been gigging solo, building up a loyal fanbase around the county. Miranda describes herself as “somewhat of an indie-pop artist”. Her influences include, Birdy, Gabrielle Aplin, Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Lily Allen and Eva Cassidy to name but a few! Miranda’s vibrant performances make for an enjoyable evening of popular upbeat covers.

Tom Baker

Next playing at The Alverton’s Summer Sessions on 25th August.

Performing a mixture of your favourite modern day classics to those timeless oldies, Tom has a very unique acoustic style which can please the whole crowd. With over ten years of experience gigging, Tom has finely tuned a wide blend of songs including the likes of Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, George Ezra, Queen, Kings of Leon, Stevie Wonder and many more.

Josh Curnow

Next playing at The Alverton’s Summer Sessions on 8th September.

Josh Curnow has been a semi-finalist on Britain’s Got Talent as well as touring the country with musicians such as Atomic Kitten, Matt Cardle, K.T. Tunstall, Scouting for Girls and many more. “A true polished professional” described by Amanda Holden.

After taking the country by storm, Josh is excited to be back and playing to his own local crowd! This special performance will be taking place in our very own Great Hall, where guests can dance the night away and celebrate a summer to remember.

Maisy Grace

At last but not least…

Singer, songwriter and producer Maisy Grace has been making waves around the Southwest and beyond, as Sidelines, her debut EP, received airplay from BBC Introducing South West and Radio 6 Music’s Tom Robinson. Her deeply personal lyrics take on the world around her, tackling subjects as diverse as gender equality, mental health, love, loss and lockdown with a soulful delivery. You can find Maisy Grace at our Great British Tea Party on 4th June.

Tickets to our Summer Sessions are £17, and tickets to our closing party are £22. Both include a summer cocktail or a pint of Offshore.
