Fishermen’s Mission Charity Dinner

Join us on Thursday 13th October for a celebration of Cornish food and drink at The Fishermen's Mission Charity Dinner.

A celebration of Cornwall

Head to the Great Hall on the 13th October to help raise money for an incredibly important cause. The widely renowned team behind The Fishermen’s Mission will be joining us to co-host a celebratory evening of Cornish food and drink that will both highlight the important work they do and raise funds to help them continue to deliver their mission across our county.

In a true celebration of all our coastal region has to offer, some of Cornwall’s top chefs will be taking over The Alverton’s kitchen for the evening to highlight the very best seafood, grass-fed meats and harvest available across The Duchy. A charity auction will also be taking place throughout the evening with some incredible prizes, with more details to be released soon.

The Fishermen's Mission

Since 1881 The Fishermen’s Mission has delivered vital support to fishermen, their families and communities. More than 13,000 people work in fishing: the UK’s toughest and most dangerous peacetime occupation.

At sea, they face death and injury with an average of 15 fishermen killed or seriously injured every year. On land, many struggle with insecurity and debt. And for the 50,000 retired fishermen and their families, the fishing may have ended but the hardship continues as they face debt, scant savings, loneliness and isolation.

This incredible charity strive to alleviate loneliness and improve welfare in fishing communities through providing emergency response to those in need, all year round.

Indulge in our five course menu

On the night, expect to indulge in a five course tasting menu, with each course specially designed by some of Cornwall’s top chefs including Guy Owen of St. Enodoc hotel, Jude Kereama of Kota and Kota Kai and The Alverton’s very own Nick Hodges, with more names to be added soon.

The full menu will be released soon.
